Sierra Boost Pumps

Sierra boosters are electrically powered and compress breathing air to 5000 PSI from 1500 PSI or boost to 2216 PSI from 800 PSI. Sierra boosters are available in several models. (See chart below) The newest models will boost air to 6000 psi.

Models 9000 and 12000 are pre-set at the factory to the desired automatic stop pressure. They are manually re-started. The models 9000 and 12000 A-2 have a selectable stop pressure switch for either 2216 or 4500 and 4500 or 6000 PSI air fills. Sierra Booster Cascade Installation...

THE SIERRA AIR BOOSTER

With the 9000 A-2 and 12000 A-2 automatic on/off switching, the booster will pump until the maximum pressure setting is reached, then will automatically shut off. After the valve is closed, the full cylinders can be replaced with empty cylinders. Re-opening of the valve will send a low pressure signal to the booster which will automatically start pumping and repeat the cycle.

Sierra Precision has designed the pressure system circuitry in the 9000 A-2 and 12000 A-2 models to conveniently compensate for different pressures. Many fire departments, whether large or small, paid or volunteer, have both low pressure (2216 psi) and high pressure (4500 psi) SCBA units in operation at the same time. The 9000 A-2 will allow the operator to conveniently turn a knob one-half turn to change from low pressure to high pressure and back. No screwdrivers are needed and no guesswork is involved as the two pressure ranges, both low and high, are factory set. Both circuits have their own "vent to atmosphere" safety valve to prevent the possibility of overfill.

These important features on the 9000 A-2 and 12000 A-2 will save valuable time at the scene of an incident. In addition, the guesswork and headaches involved in filling the different pressure rated bottles aill be eliminated, whether in the field or at the station, having a need to fill both 2216 & 4500 PSI cylinders or 4500 PSI and 6000 PSI
