Easy and Automatic Testing
|
Just attach the fully-assembled SCBA to be tested to the Posichek3 test-head, and choose the tests you wish to conduct. The PosiChek3 "Quick Test" fully evaluates the operational readiness of an SCBA in less than 2 minutes and consumes less than 1% of the SCBA's air supply. Once the full tests have been completed, the information can be printed immediately or saved in a user-specified database for future retrieval. The PosiChek3 makes record-keeping easy!

Enhanced Precision (EP)Transducer
|
The Enhanced Precision (EP) High Pressure Transducer became standard issue with every new PosiChek3 sold as of March 1, 2004. The EP transducer was developed to keep pace with new test standards that are being adopted by the SCBA manufacturing community in an effort to improve user safety. The EP Transducer gives a more precise measurement of pressure within the high-pressure manifold during testing.
The EP transducer is also available as an upgrade for PosiChek3 units currently in use.
Note: The EP transducer is incompatible with all 16-bit versions of PosiChek3 Software, including generic and OEM 16 bit software. Call Biosystems for details on upgrading your Posi-chek3 software.

Sound Detection System (SDS)
|
Biosystems released the 'Sound Detection System' (SDS) on March 1, 2004 as an optional upgrade. The Sound Detection Systems (SDS) includes a microphone and all necessary hardware to eliminate human interaction during the primary audible alarm test. The PosiChek must be equipped with the EP transducer to accept the SDS.
Notice: MSA OEM software requires SDS to function properly. SDS is not required by other SCBA brands.
The SDS is available as an upgrade for PosiChek units currently in use. The PosiChek must be equipped with the EP transducer to accept the SDS. 32 bit software is required with the SDS.

PosiChek3 completely evaluates SCBA readiness. The following tests are available:
- Mask leak-check
- Exhalation check-valve opening pressure
- Static mask-pressure
- Bypass flow-rate
- Pressure gauge accuracy
- Low pressure alarm activation
- Visual inspection
- Breathing resistance at standard (40 LPM) work-rate
- Breathing resistance at maximum (100 LPM) work-rate

PC Requirements
|
The PosiChek3 uses your own IBM-compatible PC to run the tests and store the results. Test results can be printed at the time of the test, or retrieved from the user-specified database at any time in the future. The minimum PC requirements for the 32-bit PosiChek3 Software are as follows:
- Windows 98, ME, NT (SP 5.0 or higher), 2000, XP
- Internet Explorer version 4.01 (SP2 or higher)
- A minimum of 100 Mb of available space on the PC's hard drive.
- Parallel Port (Required or Adapter card supplied)

Minimum PC System Requirements for Posi 3 USB model
- Windows XP or Vista 32
- Pentium 4 processor 2.0 GHz or higher
- 512 MB RAM
- 50 Mb of available space on hard drive
- USB 2.0 port and CD-ROM Drive
Notice:
1) The standard PosiChek3 units available below, require a parallel printer port to print reports and are subject to be discontinued at any time. After that only the Posi 3 USB units will be available for purchase. All PosiChek3 units dedicated to flow testing either Survivair, MSA or Draeger currently have the option of being upgraded to Posi 3 USB compatibility, at additional cost, or staying with current parallel port configuration.
Although USB-Parallel port converters are now available, the routing through USB hardware is incompatible with the PosiChek3.
2) Sperian Fire US (formerly known as Survivair), MSA (US), Dräger (US) and NIOSH software versions are currently available for use with the new Posi 3 USB flow testers. Scott, ISI and Interspiro have not released approved USB software for testing with the new USB flow testers. USB software is NOT compatible with older PosiChek3 flow testers.
