The New Posi3 USB SCBA flow tester and the prior Posichek3 flow tester are approved SCBA flow test devices by NIOSH and NFPA for functionally testing SCBA to maintain each respective approval. Honeywell Analytics manufactures the current Posi3 USB model and the past Posichek3 models. Most SCBA require annual flow testing for maintain their NFPA or NIOSH approvals.

The Enhanced Precision (EP) High Pressure Transducer became standard issue with every new PosiChek³ sold as of March 1, 2004. The EP transducer was developed to keep pace with new test standards that are being adopted by the SCBA manufacturing community in an effort to improve user safety.  The EP Transducer gives a more precise measurement of pressure within the high-pressure manifold during testing.

The EP transducer is also available as an upgrade for PosiChek³ units currently in use.

Note:  The EP transducer is incompatible with all 16-bit versions of PosiChek³ Software, including generic and OEM 16 bit software. Call Biosystems for details on upgrading your Posi-chek³ software.

Notice: 
1) The prior PosiChek³ models are no longer available as new units. They require a parallel printer port to print reports. Honeywell Analytics has stated they will support PosiChek³ units as long as the owners continue to send them in for service and recalibration as parallel printer port models. Only the new Posi 3 USB models are now available for purchase. All PosiChek³ units dedicated to flow testing either Survivair, MSA, Draeger, Scott, ISI and Interspiro currently have the option of being upgraded to Posi 3 USB compatibility, at additional cost, or staying with current parallel port configuration.

Although USB-Parallel port converters are available, the routing through USB hardware is incompatible with the PosiChek³.

2) Honeywell/Sperian Fire/Survivair (US), MSA (US), Draeger (US), Scott, ISI, and Interspiro and NIOSH software versions are currently available for use with the new Posi 3 USB flow testers. USB software is NOT compatible with older PosiChek³ flow testers without being upgraded to USB compatibility.
